Tuesday Shoesday

I’m slightly in love with these shoes, both for personal and for wedding inspiration purposes. Shoes with crossover straps such as this are definitely my style. They just work with my body, and I love pretty much any pair I try on.
I love these two though because one is PERFECT for entering fall as it is suede. And the second is perfect for a fall colored bridesmaid dress, as they are made out of Satin. Both are ON SALE right now from J.Crew, so I suggest you go check them out!
Don’t worry hubby, you won’t find both of these in my closet…
oh wait, did I mention they have different colors? Scratch that! ;) -
Happy Valentine’s Day
Love is in the air!!! Enjoy your Valentine’s Day with your sweetie, and if you already celebrated this weekend, take tonight to just cuddle up on the couch and just enjoy each other’s company!
And for you couples planning your wedding out there, set aside your wedding planning for tonight and spend the night just talking to your hubby about anything and everything. It is nice to take a break from the planning and enjoy the fact that you get to spend the rest of your life with this person next to you.
And if you’re looking for a new treat to try for your lucky guy, try these homemade marshmallows from Alisa Burke!

Bridal Shower Recipe Recap
A few of the things that we created for the shower were a big hit so I wanted to share those recipes with you all! The first was a Strawberry and Feta Salad, it was such a hit there was only a few strawberries left for the last person!

Strawberry & Feta Salad- 2-3 packages of Spring Green lettuce mix – this will feed about 23-27 people if you have other dishes as well, you can also use Romaine lettuce as well
- 1 1/2 cups of sliced fresh strawberries
- 1 container of feta cheese (can vary depending on your liking of feta cheese!)
- sprinkle in dried cranberries and pine nuts
Toss with Raspberry vinaigrette salad dressing (it only takes a little because the strawberries will act as a dressing as well. For another fruity variation, you could add some dried apples or fresh pears to the salad as well.

For the drink, we got inspiration from this Delish Green Tea & Mango Splash recipe. However, I did not have time to make green tea by hand, so I altered the recipe to do this a faster way. We bought jugs of green tea and mixed with bottles of Mango Nectar. You need about 2 cups of Mango to 1 cup of green tea. This tastes great when chilled, so make sure you make this before guests arrive so the ice can do it’s job! If you’re not serving buffet style, spruce up a glass by adding a mint sprig or a mango slice for each guest.
Lastly, I wanted to do little petit fours for each guest to have as a dessert. A friend of the family made these, and they were the perfect size after all the regular food we had served. Doing the mix of Andrea & Jeff’s initials with the flowers was perfect, and we could pass out to everyone during gifts so they could enjoy while watching Andrea open gifts. I definitely recommend desserts that are more individually sized for showers!

They Say that All is Fair in Love and War
Especially when you’re throwing water balloons at each other.
This is the first time I have ever seen a water balloon engagement shoot. Major props to this couple for doing something way different and having FUN with it. Photographer Daniel Kiyoi captures their expressions at exactly the right moment and you can really see the love in this couple’s eyes. Check out some more pictures as featured on Ruffled and definitely visit Daniel’s site as well.

Hello Utah
OK, so I’m pretty sure St. Louis doesn’t have a view like this… but I had to share anyways. This picture from Jill Thomas is breathtaking! And I love that they are standing in so much snow, you can barely see the top of her cute yellow rain boots! Are any brides out there thinking of having engagement pictures taken somewhere other than St. Louis?
